Community engagement
We support a sustainable society. This includes not only reducing our environmental impact, but working with our customers, employees, vendors, and community to conserve biodiversity and enhance ecosystems. We believe these activities will not only heal the present environment, but set the stage for future repair and recovery.
Ricoh's Sustainable Development Award (RSDA) Program
We believe in encouraging and supporting future generations. Today's younger generation plays a key role in creating and sustaining harmony between business and the environment. Through the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (Regeneron ISEF), the world's largest international pre-college science competition, Ricoh provides scholarships to students who develop innovative and practical solutions to tackle environmental issues. Since 2005, we've awarded more than $450,000 in scholarships.
2024 RSDA Winner
The 2024 award went to Yash Dagade, a senior from Eden Prairie High School in Eden Prairie, MN. Yash was awarded a $10,000 scholarship for his winning project, “Sky Wind Farm: Harnessing High Altitude Wind Power in Scalable Manner”.
As part of our ongoing sponsorship with Society for Science, Ricoh also supports the nearly 400 Society-affiliated regional science and engineering fairs worldwide. In 2024, we planted 400 trees on behalf of the Ricoh winners.
We are proud to support these innovative young minds as they work to build an environmentally sustainable future.
Marine wildlife conservation
Removing debris from shorelines is not simply a matter of clean-up, but also a critical conservation effort for marine wildlife. We encourage our employees to donate time and energy to these activities with efforts throughout the United States and Canada.
